- The original 16550 from National Semiconductor was buggy and not effective...
- however, that part has been out of production for years (my 16550A spec book
- is dated 1987), so I would think that the omission of the "A" is perhaps a
- mistake or, more likely, an indication that the part is a 16550A-equivalent
- from another manufacturer. I wouldn't worry.
